Japanese School Lunches

If you were invisible, what would you do?

During the 2012/2013 school year, I taught English at four public junior high schools in Tokyo Japan.Teaching in Japan was at times exciting, frustrating, depressing, exhilarating, boring, freezing cold, steaming hot, lonely, starving, happy, hilariously funny, maddening, rewarding, and most of all, definitely interesting. If you have a sense of adventure and wonder how the largest city on Earth functions, then come to Tokyo.

When I taught English in Tokyo Japan, I was very impressed by their school lunches. Having taught in America, the differences in the food and overall lunchtime approach was quite striking. Overall I found then quite tasty, much healthier, but extremely limited in choices and quantity.
